Studying with a disability

Are you studying at the University of Wuppertal and experiencing difficulties with your studies due to a health condition?

Health conditions that may affect your studies include:

  • Mobility and movement impairments
  • Visual impairments
  • Hearing impairments
  • Speech impairments (e.g. stammering)
  • Mental health conditions (e.g. depression, PTSD)
  • Chronic physical conditions (e.g. diabetes, multiple sclerosis, bowel disorders)
  • Specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia)
  • AD(H)D
  • Autism/neurodiversity
  • other long-term conditions or serious illnesses (e.g. cancer)
  • etc.

Depending on your field of study, stage of your degree and individual circumstances, a wide range of questions, personal needs or even obstacles may arise in the course of your studies in connection with these difficulties!

We provide advice and support to:

  • Students
  • Prospective students
  • Lecturers and other members of the university community who
    wish to enable students with disabilities to participate fully in their studies
  • Parents/teachers
